With so many places to visit in Europe, it can be hard to decide what to do or where to go. Italy should definitely be towards the top of your list. It is important to know how to spend your time in Italy because unless you plan on living there for awhile, you’ve got a long list of things to do in a short amount of time. Consider the list we have provided as you plan your next trip to this amazing country. It is important to have an overall plan before you go as to not waist time trying to decide what you are going to do while you are there.
1. Rome
Rome has a rich presence of architecture. The Colosseum is perhaps one of the most famous architectures in Italy and is located in Rome. This building is incredibly beautiful, as shown below. It is an amphitheater that is approximately 620 by 513 feet. Anciently, it was used to hold games such as gladiatorial combats.
You can also visit Vatican City which is full of Catholic History. It is the heart of the Catholic church and has the famous Sistine Chapel. There are many tours that are available for these locations and they can help you become better educated on the ancient history of Rome.

2. Venice
Venice, also known as the City of Canals, or The Floating City, is the perfect place to ride a gondola and take beautiful pictures of the lights that reflect off of the water. There are many bridges, one of them being the Rialto Bridge, which has shops. Venice is also a perfect location for dining by the water. The Riviera is a great location that is right by the Piazza San Marco so you can enjoy the views while delighting yourself in a nice dinner.

3. Enjoy the Gastronomy
If there is any place that really makes food an art, it is Italy. There are array of breads, pastas, and truffles. Of course it is also where pizza originates. Be sure to try what true Italian pizza and lasagna taste like. If you decide to, you can even take a tour to better understand why food is so important to the Italians and how they make their delicious dishes.
Don’t forget to also try the italian ice cream, gelato. Although there are many places that serve this in the United States these days, it isn’t quite the same as the real deal. There are so many arrays of flavors to try from. I would recommend trying one a day just to try as many flavors as possible.
