Cancún is also well known for its underwater museums. To reach the museum you must scuba dive. Below the water you will find many statues. 2. Learn About Mayan History
El Rey is the ancient ruin that is located directly in Cancún. This sight was built about 1000 years ago. It isn’t the most famous of the Mayan ruins but it is very easily accessible to anyone staying in Cancún. There are 47 structures that make up this archaeological sight.
The most famous ruin of the Mayans is located just 120 miles from Cancún. Chichen Itza is known as one of the new 7 wonders of the world. There are many parts to this sight but the center of attention goes to El Castillo pyramid. 3. Explore the Shops
Cancún has a variety of shops available. As it has become more and more of a tourist destination, Cancún has developed high end shopping malls. There are also many flea markets available for fun cheap souvenirs. The large malls can be found in Cancún’s Hotel Zone. If you are looking for traditional souvenirs then Coral Negro Flea Market is a great location. Forum Cancún is also a great mall if you are looking for an ocean front mall with a lot of night life.

4. Enjoy the Food
If you are looking for some good traditional Mexican food then Cancún is the perfect place to be. The food here has influences from the Mayan culture as well as Spain. Beans on a tortilla actually comes from the Mayans. La Destileria is a great place to eat some traditional food. They also have musicians who come and play for you at your table while you eat.
If you are looking for a quick bite to eat then there is always street food. These tacos are amazing and easily accessible.
For your more luxurious nights there is La Habichuela which has plenty of sea food. The service here is also incredible.
